About CID
A Grammy For Summertime Sadness
The Grammy came from a remix. Carlos Cid won his first in 2013 for his work on Cedric Gervais' version of Lana Del Rey's Summertime Sadness, a track that spent that year everywhere, and he has picked up two nominations since. He plays Blackbox Theater as CID on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10.
Queens raised and DJing from the age of 11, he has since become one of the better selling artists on Beatport, worked with Kaskade, and put out records featuring Conrad Sewell and CeeLo Green. In 2019 he started Night Service Only with Spinnin' Records, a label built strictly for club records rather than festival ones, and he hosts the weekly Night Service Only radio show on SiriusXM off the back of it. House music made for a floor at 1 in the morning, in other words, by someone who spends his week deciding what qualifies.
Blackbox is out on Sugar Creek Road northeast of the center city, a 1972 cinema converted into a bass and dance room, and it is 18 and over. A 10 o'clock start on a Saturday means this runs late, so sort out the drive home before the set rather than during it. The room is the right size for club records, which is presumably the point.
