About Dikembe
Gainesville Emo At The Milestone
Out of the Gainesville emo scene came Dikembe, a Florida quartet whose knotty guitars and frayed melodies earned a quiet devotion across the underground. Their fourth album Muck still anchors the live set, and on July 17, 2026 they bring it to the Milestone Club.
The Milestone sits on Tuckaseegee Road on the west side, a low brick box that has booked punk and underground bands since 1969, which makes it one of the oldest rooms of its kind anywhere in the country. The graffiti is part of the architecture now.
Emo this earnest belongs in a room this scuffed and this close. A Friday night for anyone who still keeps the old records within reach.
