Mike Goodwin

The bow tie is not a costume, it is the whole brand, and Mike Goodwin has built a touring career on being the comic you can put in front of a room without checking who is in it first. He plays the Comedy Zone twice, a 3 o'clock matinee on Saturday, August 29 and an early show on Sunday, August 30, 2026, on a run he calls the Open Mike tour, 43 dates across 28 cities.

He came up in South Carolina, served as an Army soldier, then taught, and finished a master's degree at the University of South Carolina before comedy became the job. All of that shows up in the material, which works observational and clean and lands across a wider age range than most club bookings manage. Nothing about it is soft. It just does not need a warning.

The matinee is the detail worth circling. Charlotte gets almost no afternoon comedy, and a 3 o'clock start makes this the rare show that works for a family, a first date, or anybody who would rather not be out past eleven. It is 18 and over, in the Music Factory complex, which means dinner afterward is a two minute walk instead of a second drive.
