About Whales
A Bass Set In Plaza Midwood
Plaza Midwood does not get many of these. Bass bookings in Charlotte tend to land northeast at Blackbox or out at the amphitheaters, so a producer of this size playing a 300 capacity room on Commonwealth Avenue is worth noticing. Whales plays The Rabbit Hole on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10, 21 and over.
Tal Rochman started making music at fifteen in Israel under an earlier name and has spent the years since moving between dubstep, trap and future bass without settling anywhere for long. The collaborations have pushed past five hundred million plays and the touring has covered Canada, Europe and China, which is a strange resume to bring to a bar with an Alice in Wonderland theme.
That mismatch is the appeal. The Rabbit Hole is a general admission floor with a full bar and no separation worth mentioning between the booth and the crowd, and a set built for far larger rooms lands differently at this range. It runs late on a Saturday, and the Commonwealth Avenue patios stay open around it.
