About AJ Lee & Blue Summit
California Soul Bluegrass
AJ Lee & Blue Summit make bluegrass that feels like the California coast it comes from, warm, soulful, and a little loose around the edges. The Santa Cruz group, anchored by AJ Lee's luminous voice and deft mandolin, met as teenagers jamming at local festivals, and that easy chemistry runs through everything they play.
The latest album, City of Glass, showcases the California soul bluegrass sound that has won them a fast growing following beyond the festival circuit.
Neighborhood Theatre hosts October 24. String music this warm in a NoDa room is the right setting, close enough to catch every harmony. A Saturday for the pickers and the dreamers.
