The Soul Set After Midnight
Read down the Carolina Open Air afterparty listings and it is bass music, bass music, bass music, then Artifakts. Garret Meyer has been running this audio and visual project since 2011, and what comes out of it sits closer to soul and hip hop than to anything on the festival's main stage. He plays The Rabbit Hole late on Friday, August 28, 2026.
The range is wide. Some of it is gritty and down sampled, a soul loop stomped into the floor. Some of it goes airy and ambient and nearly disappears. Wisconsin born and touring on his own terms, he has spent fifteen years avoiding the corner of electronic music that would have been easiest to sit in.
This is the smart pick if you are out that Friday and want something other than another drop. The Rabbit Hole is small, standing, 21 and over, and on Commonwealth Avenue rather than out at the festival site, so it is a short hop for anyone already on that side of town.
