Dysfunction, Perfected On Stage
Christopher Titus turned a brutal childhood into an art form. Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding, his one man show about surviving a dysfunctional family, became the Fox sitcom Titus and set the template for a career of full length comedy works, ten specials of structured, confessional storytelling rather than loose club sets.
Doomed to Repeat is the 2026 edition, history's lessons applied to the present with the same gallows precision, touring the country through the year. His recent special Carrying Monsters bookends the first show a quarter century later, a career achievement few comics attempt.
The restored Carolina Theatre hosts on June 26, a 950 seat room built for exactly this kind of long form evening. Bring someone with a complicated family, which is to say anyone.
