DustBowlChampion is the solo lane of Fresno's Jaron Delacruz, lo fi synth pop in the lineage of Ariel Pink and Black Marble, drum machines under vocals drowned in chorus and delay, songs like Mess U Up and I Wanna Watch You Dance built to be melancholy and danceable in the same breath.
It is bedroom music in the literal tradition, a project running since 2020 across releases like Baby Tapes and Cardinal Sin, finding its audience the slow, devoted way.
The Evening Muse hosts July 21, 120 capacity in NoDa. Music this intimate in a room this small is the correct ratio, sway accordingly.
