Most tribute bands pick a costume. This one picked a rhythm section. Jammy Buffet runs Jimmy Buffett's catalog through jam band improvisation, which means the songs you know arrive in roughly the right shape and then go somewhere else for a while. They play the Neighborhood Theatre on Friday, October 2, 2026.

It is a Colorado and Tennessee group fronted by songwriter Bob Barrick, and the detail that separates them from the covers circuit is who sits in. Members of Jimmy's own Coral Reefer Band turn up with them regularly, which is a level of blessing most tribute acts never get near. The Gulf and Western material holds up to the treatment better than you would guess, because a lot of it was loose to begin with.

The Neighborhood Theatre has run independently on North Davidson since 1997 and it is the right size for this, big enough for a crowd that wants to sing and small enough that the improvising does not disappear into a shed. Come for the hits, stay for the part where a three minute song becomes eleven. North Davidson handles dinner and the patio after.
