A Number One In The Yard
In the summer of 2022, two Scots held the UK number one for eight straight weeks with Afraid to Feel, a disco flip of a 1975 Silk record that matched Calvin Harris for the longest run a dance track has ever managed there. LF System, Conor Larkman and Sean Finnigan, took a BRIT nomination and BBC Radio 1's dance track of the year along the way.
Their sets stay loyal to that source code, joyful, sample driven house with disco's heart still beating in it, built less for festival pyro than for a packed floor that knows the words to records twice its age.
Which makes the June 20 booking a gem, The Music Yard at SouthBound, a 500 person backyard between a taco joint and a barbecue bar in South End, with a UK chart phenomenon behind the decks. Daylight house music in a yard, summer solved.
