About Rick Ross
Port Of Miami Turns Twenty
The dress code is black tie. That is not a phrase usually attached to a rap show, but Rick Ross is marking twenty years of Port of Miami by playing it at the Belk Theater on Saturday, August 29, 2026, with the Renaissance Orchestra behind him.
The local detail is the choir. The Sainted Trap Choir, the Charlotte group that turned a Golden Buzzer on America's Got Talent into a touring show of their own, is on the bill, which means a debut album from 2006 gets performed with strings and gospel voices in a hall built for touring Broadway. Tickets start around 200 dollars, so this is a night out rather than a drop in.
Belk Theater is inside the Blumenthal complex, walkable from the Blue Line and from most of Uptown's kitchens, which close earlier than an 8 o'clock show ends. Eat first. If you have carried Port of Miami around since high school, this is the strangest and probably the best chance you will get to hear it played this way.
