Scarlet House is one person, 25 years old and working out of Charlotte, writing and playing all of it himself. The influences are an unlikely stack that somehow holds, Deftones and The Cure and Nirvana on one side, Lucki and Destroy Lonely and $NOT on the other, alternative rock and modern rap sharing the same three minutes. He has also come through more than most people his age, including a stretch of childhood without a stable home and a lymphoma diagnosis, and the songs carry that without leaning on it.
The Neighborhood Theatre has been NoDa's independent room since 1997, and a hometown release show is what it does best, a floor full of people who know the words before the record is out.
