The Hip Abduction sound like a vacation that learned to write hooks. The St. Petersburg, Florida collective has spent fifteen years fusing West African rhythms, vintage Jamaican reggae, dub, and indie rock into a sunshine genre of their own, and the Into the Wild Tour carries it across the country through 2026.
Live is their natural habitat, layered percussion, horns, and choruses built for singing with a drink in hand. They are festival regulars on the reggae rock circuit for a reason, the groove does not quit and the mood is medicinal.
The Fillmore hosts June 19, and a Friday night of Florida warmth at the Music Factory is an easy yes. Sandals optional, dancing is not.
