Two Brothers, Full Band
The Ries Brothers solve the duo problem with anatomy. Older brother Charlie sings lead while playing drums and keyboard bass at the same time, younger brother Kevin Jordan handles guitar, and the Tampa pair somehow output a full band's blend of rock, blues, funk, and reggae from two chairs.
The journeyman resume is real, two national tours opening for Chicago, a run with the Allman Brothers' Butch Trucks, stages shared with 311, Stephen Marley, and Galactic, plus festival stops from Okeechobee to Shaky Knees.
They play the Evening Muse on June 20, NoDa's 120 seat listening room, where the two person full band trick lands best, close enough to watch Charlie's hands do three jobs at once.
