The Whisper That Endured
In 1987 the Cowboy Junkies recorded an album around a single microphone in a Toronto church, and The Trinity Session's million selling hush, Margo Timmins barely singing over her brother Michael's barely playing, became one of the most influential quiet records ever made. The same four people, three Timmins siblings and family friend Alan Anton, are still the band almost forty years on.
The 2026 tour is a career spanning night, Trinity Session classics like their definitive Sweet Jane through the recent Such Ferocious Beauty, music that asks a room to lean in rather than shout along.
Which makes the booking perfect, the Carolina Theatre on June 20, the restored 1927 jewel box on North Tryon, 950 seats and acoustics built for exactly this kind of reverence. The quietest show of Charlotte's summer will be one of its best.
