About Jinjer
Ukraine's Heaviest Export Returns
Jinjer carry more weight than most metal bands, literally and otherwise. The Ukrainian progressive metalcore four piece kept touring and recording through their country's war, and their fifth album Duel, released in early 2025, is their most ambitious, technical, churning, and emotionally raw even by their standards.
The phenomenon at the center is Tatiana Shmayluk, whose voice swings from guttural roar to clean melody mid line, a party trick that became a genre influence. Behind her the band plays prog complexity with groove, which is why their crowds headbang and dance in equal measure.
The June 17 Fillmore date stacks the bill with Japan's Crystal Lake and prog death outfit Entheos, a heavy night top to bottom. Earplugs are not cowardice here, they are strategy.
