Thirty Years Of Hill Country
The North Mississippi Allstars carry a sacred tradition forward, brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson raised in the hill country blues of north Mississippi and steeped in it since childhood. Thirty years as a band, and the 25th anniversary of their debut Shake Hands With Shorty, give the current run a celebratory weight.
The live show is loose, electric, and deeply rooted, the kind of blues rock that honors its elders while refusing to museum itself, with blues legend Bobby Rush joining select dates.
Neighborhood Theatre hosts September 17. Hill country blues in a NoDa room is the right scale for music this communal. A Thursday for anyone who likes their roots music with real grit.
