John Lydon changed music twice, first as the snarling face of the Sex Pistols, then more adventurously as the leader of Public Image Ltd, the post punk outfit that turned anger into something stranger and more experimental. PiL's North American tour, pointedly titled This Is Not the Final PiL Tour, is the band's first run on the continent in eleven years.
The current lineup is road tested and deep, and a new live album plus a studio record in the works prove Lydon is not coasting on legacy. Public Image and Rise still land like provocations.
