Silverada

For about a decade they were Mike and the Moonpies, and a lot of people in the room on Thursday, October 15, 2026 will still call them that. The Austin band changed the name to Silverada in 2024, and they play Amos' Southend that night on the run behind Living Proof, the album they put out on August 7 through Prairie Rose Records.

The new record arrived after a real shake up. Steel guitarist Zachary Moulton left in March of 2025, and rather than replace the sound they leaned into the gap, announcing a new era with the single Highway Man and building Living Proof around it. The band still works the neo traditional country it built in Texas dance halls, but there is more rock in the current version than the Moonpies catalog would have you expect.

Amos' Southend is the reason this booking is interesting. It is a long running South End club that mostly hosts metal, punk and local rock, so a Texas country band with a pedal steel history is a genuine change of texture for the room. The floor is flat and general admission, the sight lines are honest, and South End means the Blue Line gets you there and back without dealing with the Tryon Street corridor at all.
