Back Where Skyla Began
Here is a piece of Charlotte trivia the band itself can confirm. When the amphitheater now called Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre opened its doors in June 2009, the first act on that brand new stage was The Fray. On August 7 they come back to the room they christened.
The songs need no reintroduction. How to Save a Life and Over My Head (Cable Car) soundtracked the mid 2000s from radio to Grey's Anatomy, piano rock built for singing along with strangers.
The bill stacks the era generously, Dashboard Confessional bringing two decades of screamed back choruses and Colony House opening. Skyla's raised lawn with the skyline behind the stage is the right frame for a night this sentimental.
