Add another opening night to Charlotte's ledger. Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats launch their entire North American tour at Neighborhood Theatre on September 8, the first date of a run that winds through 24 cities before ending in New York.
The Cambridge cult heroes play doom like a lost 1971 horror soundtrack, ghostly twin vocals over riffs that crawl, a sound that built one of heavy music's most devoted followings almost entirely by word of mouth. Italian doom trio Messa rides the tour as direct support.
An 18 and up Tuesday in NoDa, fuzz at close range, and the band still shaking off rehearsal, which for this genre is somehow exactly right.
