Upcoming At The Comedy Club at Duckworth's

Charlotte's busiest comedy stage is a room of about a hundred seats above a burger joint. The Comedy Club at Duckworth's opened in early 2025 on the second floor of Duckworth's Grill and Taphouse at Tryon and 7th, and it gave Uptown the thing it never had, a true dedicated stand up club within walking distance of everything.

The format is the classic one. A national headliner works the room for close to an hour, with two or three local and regional comics opening, and the week usually runs Thursday through the weekend with early and late shows. The room is small enough that there is no bad seat and no hiding from the crowd work, which is exactly how a comedy club should feel.

Food and drinks come from Duckworth's downstairs, so dinner and the show live in the same building. One honest heads up, the club is up a full flight of stairs and there is no elevator, so plan for that.

If you work or stay Uptown, this is the easiest great night out in the neighborhood. Grab the early show, eat downstairs first, and walk home.

Good To Know Before You Go

Does The Comedy Club at Duckworth's have assigned seats?
It depends on your ticket. General admission gets you a seat the staff fills front to back as you arrive, while the reserved tier guarantees your spot, usually closer to the stage. The room only holds about a hundred people, so even the back row is close. The floor plan on this page shows the layout.
Where is the club inside Duckworth's?
Up the stairs on the second floor of Duckworth's Grill and Taphouse at 330 North Tryon, at the corner of Tryon and 7th. Note that there is no elevator, the only way up is the flight of stairs.
Can you eat and drink during the show?
Yes. The menu comes from Duckworth's downstairs, so you can order food and drinks with the show, or eat in the restaurant first and head up for the comic.
Is the club 18 and up or 21 and up?
Most shows are 18 and up, and some late shows run 21 and up. The age limit is listed on each event, and you will want a photo ID for the bar either way.
How big is The Comedy Club at Duckworth's?
Around a hundred seats. That is the point, it is an intimate club where every seat is close and the headliner can see the whole room.
Where do you park for shows at Duckworth's?
You are in the middle of Uptown, so nearby decks and evening street parking are the play. The light rail also stops a short walk away, which beats parking on a busy night.
How do tickets work at the door?
Have your digital ticket ready at the top of the stairs and arrive early, especially with a general admission ticket, since the room fills front to back as people come in.
