Olivia Rodrigo Doubles Up Uptown

Olivia Rodrigo plays Spectrum Center on Wednesday, October 7 and Thursday, October 8, and Phoebe Bridgers takes the same room on Friday. Clint Black and Midland start their whole run in Ballantyne, Fuerza Regida fill Truliant twice, and Martin Lawrence brings Loni Love to Ovens.

The Marquee

Olivia Rodrigo gets two nights at Spectrum Center, Wednesday, October 7 and Thursday, October 8, both with Wolf Alice opening. The Unraveled Tour started in Hartford in September and grew to 86 shows across North America and Europe because the arenas kept selling out, with the last date not until May 10, 2027. Charlotte catches it early, while the set is still new enough to surprise. Two weeknight arena shows back to back means the same decks and the same Trade Street crowds two evenings running, so the Blue Line is the move both nights, and the second night is often the slightly easier ticket.

Around The Neighborhoods

Uptown keeps the arena lit into the weekend. Phoebe Bridgers plays Spectrum Center on Friday, October 9 with Alex G, her first Charlotte date since 2021, on an arena run that also crosses the UK and Europe this fall. Over on South Tryon the Knight Theater has two very different nights. Lalah Hathaway sings there on Wednesday, October 7, six days after Made In Chicago, the album she released on what would have been her father Donny's 81st birthday. On Sunday, October 11, Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band play Ledbetter Heights in full for its 30th anniversary, with Noah Hunt singing songs that came out before he joined.

The Music Factory runs every night from Tuesday on. Rebecca Black opens the week at the Underground on Tuesday, October 6 with BAYLI, a month into the tour behind Age of the Exhibitionist. Wednesday splits the complex. Wave to Earth, the Korean band with a global following, take the Skyla lawn on the biggest North American run they have tried, while Finn Wolfhard plays the Underground behind Fire From The Hip, the solo record he released on July 10. Gregory Alan Isakov has the lawn on Thursday, still touring the Grammy nominated Appaloosa Bones and reworking older songs as he goes.

Friday, October 9 brings Niko Moon and Blake Proehl to the Fillmore. Saturday doubles up again. Two Door Cinema Club play Tourist History front to back on the Skyla lawn with STRFKR opening, and downstairs at the Underground High June, a band that came together at East Carolina, headline with Cadalay. Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue close the week at the Underground on Sunday, October 11, with Abraham Alexander opening.

NoDa never takes a night off. Kyle Gordon brings the Planet of the Bass characters and a full band to the Neighborhood Theatre on Tuesday, October 6, and verygently follow on Wednesday. Shawn James points that enormous voice at the songs from Passage on Thursday, sisters Leah and Chloe Smith of Rising Appalachia take Friday, and Daley plays Saturday, a British soul singer back after years away with a single called Lavender. The 502s finish it on Sunday, October 11 with banjo, brass and a room built for singing along.

South End has its night early. Willow Avalon plays Amos' Southend on Tuesday, October 6, between a North American run and a jump overseas.

East of the center city, Independence Boulevard and the old coliseum do the heavy lifting. Edith Marquez brings the Eterna e Inolvidable tour to Ovens Auditorium on Friday, October 9, and MercyMe fill Bojangles Coliseum on Sunday, October 11 with Jeremy Camp, Tim Timmons and Sam Wesley.

Greater Charlotte has the most interesting date of the week for country fans. Clint Black and Midland open their co headline run at The Amp Ballantyne on Thursday, October 8, the first of only eight shows. Fuerza Regida play Truliant Amphitheater on Thursday and Friday, a short amphitheater leg after a summer in stadiums, and Lauren Alaina takes the Coyote Joe's stage at 11 on Friday night, 18 and up. Late night belongs to the Blackbox on Sugar Creek Road, where RESTRICTED plays hard techno on Friday and Devault follows on Saturday. Also on Saturday, Tokyo Machine takes his Down The Rabbit Hole tour, fittingly, to The Rabbit Hole.

The Comedy Card

The Comedy Zone belongs to Ryan Davis from Thursday, October 8 through Saturday, October 10, five sets from a North Carolina native who is filming his second special this year, so the late shows are where the new hour gets tested. Alfred Robles takes the Sunday early show after thirteen years opening for Gabriel Iglesias.

Duckworth's goes every night from Tuesday. Kevin Sullivan sorts the room by zodiac sign on Tuesday, October 6, and Bernice Ye brings stand up, rap and actual kung fu on Wednesday. Katie Boyle, an Irishwoman working through becoming American, has four sets Thursday through Saturday, and Matt Bergman closes with a clean Sunday show on October 11.

The theaters have the big names. Martin Lawrence plays Ovens Auditorium on Thursday, October 8 with Loni Love opening, a rare booking of that size on Independence. Whitney Cummings brings the Big Baby Tour to the Knight on Saturday, October 10, and the same night Adrian Uribe plays Ovens, his first solo US tour in more than ten years, with El Vítor and the rest of the characters along for the ride.

Next Week's Radar

Jonas Brothers play Spectrum Center on Tuesday, October 13. Then on Saturday, October 17, Ed Sheeran fills Bank of America Stadium with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis on the bill, the biggest crowd of the month in one place. Stadium nights Uptown sell out the nearby decks days ahead, so book the parking or plan the train now.
