Ed Sheeran Fills The Stadium

Ed Sheeran brings the Loop Tour to Bank of America Stadium on Saturday, October 17, and Spectrum Center hosts four more arena nights around it, from the Jonas Brothers on Tuesday to Teddy Swims on Sunday. Damon Wayans Jr. works up his first hour at the Comedy Zone.

The Marquee

Bank of America Stadium mostly belongs to football in October, which makes Saturday, October 17 unusual. Ed Sheeran plays the Loop Tour there, the run behind Play, his eighth studio album, with Macklemore on the bill and an early 5:30 start. The tour is named for the pedal that built his career, and the show still turns on it, one man layering a song in front of a full stadium until it sounds like a band. Expect the new Play songs beside Shape of You, Perfect and Thinking Out Loud. With a crowd that size landing on South Mint Street before dinner, the light rail and a parking spot booked ahead will save the night.

Around The Neighborhoods

Uptown has an arena show almost every other night. The Jonas Brothers open the week at Spectrum Center on Tuesday, October 13, eighteen years after the original Burnin' Up Tour, with Magnus Ferrell and Deleasa opening. Don Omar brings The Last King World Tour to the same room on Wednesday, and Danza Kuduro in an arena tends to settle any debate about who still has the crown. On Friday, October 16, The Smashing Pumpkins split their night in two, one half for Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness at thirty, the other for the rest of the catalog. Teddy Swims closes the arena week on Sunday, October 18 with Freak Freely, a voice built for a big room and a crowd ready to sing Lose Control back at him.

The Music Factory splits between the Fillmore and the smaller Underground downstairs, and both rooms stay busy. Tuesday pairs The Revivalists upstairs, touring Get It Honest with horns and pedal steel, against Igorrr below, harpsichord and breakcore and death metal in one set, with Trey Spruance and Secret Chiefs 3 in support. Kelela brings new avatar to the Underground on Wednesday, a 750 capacity room for an artist who headlines festivals overseas. Thursday is a night for players. Australian guitarist Plini and Night Verses take the Underground, while Thundercat plays the Fillmore behind Distracted AF with TiaCorine opening.

The weekend keeps the Factory loud. Clutch and Norway's Slomosa hold the Fillmore on Friday. Saturday has Rodrigo y Gabriela downstairs, twenty years on from the debut that carried Tamacún, and Waylon Wyatt, the nineteen year old from Hackett, Arkansas, upstairs. Sunday doubles up again. The Story So Far and The Starting Line share a pop punk bill at the Fillmore, and Chad Gray sings Mudvayne and Hellyeah songs side by side at the Underground on his first solo run.

NoDa's week runs through the Neighborhood Theatre on North Davidson. All Them Witches arrive Wednesday, October 14, five nights into a stretch of 21 shows in 21 days, with Emma Ruth Rundle opening alone. The Infamous Stringdusters bring 20/20, twenty new songs for twenty years together, on Thursday. Idaho songwriter Colby Acuff has Friday, Saskatoon's Bombargo take Saturday on the road behind Love, In Spite of Everything, and bunii finishes Sunday with the BUNIIVERSITY tour and VIRGILIO, a record The FADER already counts among the best of 2026.

South End gets two country nights at Amos' Southend. Silverada, the Austin band once called Mike and the Moonpies, play Thursday, October 15 behind Living Proof. Julia Cole, who sang anthems in NFL stadiums before she ever cut a record and still runs without a label, follows on Friday.

East of the center city, Independence Boulevard hosts Arcangel at Ovens Auditorium on Friday, October 16, two weeks into La 8va Maravilla World Tour and twenty years of Latin trap history.

Greater Charlotte has the outdoor nights. Five Finger Death Punch mark twenty years at Truliant Amphitheater on Friday with Cody Jinks, a pairing that makes more sense once you see the crowd. Trampled by Turtles bring Duluth bluegrass at punk speed to The Amp Ballantyne on Saturday with Futurebirds. Up in Catawba County, Stryper play the Newton Performing Arts Center on Friday, eight days before To Hell with the Devil turns forty. The Blackbox on Sugar Creek Road runs back to back bass nights at ten, Juelz on Friday and Sippy on Saturday.

The Comedy Card

The Comedy Zone carries two headliners at once. Damon Wayans Jr. has five sets from Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 18 while he shapes his first one hour special, so jokes may change between Friday and Saturday. Tony Roberts runs four sets of his own on Friday and Saturday.

At Duckworth's, Gabby Bryan has five sets Thursday through Saturday on her Gabby Bryan is My Best Friend tour. She built her following on crowd work, and a hundred seats is close enough for her to find everyone.

The bigger rooms have storytellers. David Nihill brings Taking Tangents to the Booth Playhouse upstairs at the Blumenthal on Friday, and Gabriel Iglesias fills Bojangles Coliseum on Sunday, October 18, the rescheduled date for his April 2 show, so hang on to those original tickets.

Next Week's Radar

Dave Chappelle brings Karmageddon to Spectrum Center on Wednesday, October 21, the second night of a short arena run, with phones locked away in pouches at the door. The next night, Thursday, October 22, Steve Lacy plays the Skyla lawn on the Oh Yeah? tour, his first major headline run since 2022 and the first look at the new album on a Charlotte stage.
